Image Processing Capabilities
The main functionality we’ve been developing using the capabilities of GPT involves image processing. Image processing and recognition is a long-demanded feature by our clients in a variety of different industries, and what we have built will help them save time and effort on traditionally time consuming tasks.

What kind of use cases can benefit from SharinPix AI?
Speaking of, what kind of use cases have we seen so far? As we mentioned above, extracting text from an image has been one of the most in-demand features for years now. We now have customers using our GPT-powered features to capture an image and automatically extract text from it, saving the text as a field in Salesforce.
Information Extraction in Automotive Images in Salesforce
To give a concrete example, check out the video below. The video contains the simulated use case of a SharinPix client that needs to conduct inspections of vehicles and store the resulting information in Salesforce. Usually, the inspectors would snap photos of the car to be manually uploaded as attachments in Salesforce while they manually record information about the car (make/model/VIN/color/etc.).
Now with the SharinPix Mobile Checklist upgraded with AI capabilities, the inspector just needs to snap pictures of the exterior of the car and of the V.I.N. number. Those photos are automatically uploaded to Salesforce in the background and our AI enhancement extracts all relevant data from the picture of the V.I.N. plate in addition to other general information like car color, type, etc.

Automated Counting of items in Retail Images in Salesforce
In another example, SharinPix AI components are used to count the specific number of item placements pictured in photos captured during a retail store inspection. As you can see in the video below, SharinPix AI recognizes the placements of either hats or bags in a display and counts them to ensure the equal or desired representation of each on the shelves.
That information can then be displayed either in a Salesforce field or within an AI-generated summary of the inspection.

What can I do about fake AI images on Salesforce?
Another huge concern amongst our clients is the use of fake images within their Salesforce. More specifically, certain industries, such as insurance, are vulnerable to having people misuse AI to doctor images to be used as evidence in something like an accident claim. How can we guarantee the images that our end users are uploading to Salesforce are legitimate?
That’s where the other element of the SharinPix AI strategy comes in: Image Verification, also known as the “Anti-Fake-AI” element. Our customers can rest easy knowing that we have several methods to verify that an image is a) authentic, b) taken at a certain time, or even c) taken at a specific location. By employing one or all of those methods, we can verify that an image is real and undoctored.
For example, if you ask your clients to upload photos of damage to their apartment via email submission, they could potentially send an old or edited photo. With the SharinPix technologies, you can have them snap the photo and upload it directly from the SharinPix integration. The image is securely captured by SharinPix and comes with a certificate that includes geolocation, date, and more. Further, SharinPix can keep this certificate and deliver it with a legal value that includes metadata, which is not usually accessible by default on most modern devices.
