Discover the New Features from SharinPix - Winter 2024 Edition!

With the arrival of the Salesforce of the Winter 2024 Release, we at SharinPix would like to take the opportunity to share some updates on the newest features that we’ve created in the last quarter. As usual, our teams take a multi-faceted approach to ensure that we’re meeting the needs of our customers for their usage on their desktops and mobile devices.

With that said, we have some super exciting features that are now available to our customers or available to test out in a FREE trial if you aren’t a part of the SharinPix user base. Q3 2024 has brought us the following features:

  1. Room Scan to create a 3D floor plan
  2. Split images per section within a SharinPix Album
  3. AI Image Processing
  4. SharinPix Video

SharinPix Room Scan

Particularly useful for those of you who work in field service, construction, property management, or similar areas, SharinPix users now have the ability to create 3D digial twins by simply scanning a room with a compatible mobile device. The result of the scan is a 3D model with accurate scaling that can be transformed into a 2D representation with measurements which can be saved a PDF floor plan if the use case requires it.

An animated thumbnail can prompt you to open your 3D digital twin model and view it from your desktop. Once you’ve opened the 3D viewer, you’ll be able to manipulate the digital twin model and use it to gather measurements, a truly helpful feature if you don’t want to return to the job site because you forgot to take a measurement of a window, wall, etc.

Here is an example of what you can expect in your Salesforce org:

Split images per section within a SharinPix Album

You can now organize your SharinPix gallery into sections that organize the photos according to the date they were uploaded to Salesforce, displaying the date above each section, as shown in the image below.

New photos added to this gallery will be automatically sorted according to the date of upload. This is a great way to refer to photos of a job being documented over multiple days, for example.

For now, date is the only way to sort your photos into sections, but we will soon expand this to work with tags and other indicators. Here is an exmaple of what it looks like in a SharinPix Album:

AI Image Processing

Using artificial intelligence to make human workflows easier is all the rage right now, and has been for quite some time if we stop to think about it. AI has even been the focus of two Dreamforce conferences in a row, so it’s no surprise that the integrations and possibilities are popping up everywhere.

With AI being a hot topic in the world of fake and doctored images, it only makes sense that SharinPix should be leading the charge against dishonest images in the Salesforce world while providing time-saving AI tools for use in your implementation.

Our SharinPix AI capabilities can be summed up into two buckets: 1) Image Processing and 2) Image Verification. Image processing includes understanding what’s inside an image and extracting and using that information (this could be text extraction, counting a number of items, or a status check). Image verification is in line with what we mentioned above, ensuring that images used in your Salesforce are, in fact, genuine. Our position here is of the “anti-fake-AI” guardians, using our capabilities to enable photo capture and keep metadata to keep you and your customers safe.

To learn more about how we’ve integrated generative AI with SharinPix features, please check out this other article that is dedicated to the subject:

SharinPix Video

We’ve been the photo experts on Salesforce for more than 8 years now, helping our customers gather photo evidence of completed jobs, damaged products, securely delivered packages, and more. But some jobs (such as proof of a leaking faucet) require a visual element a step beyond a photo, which is why we’re happy to announce that SharinPix now also supports video.

From your mobile device, you’ll be able to use the system camera to capture short videos that you can then open in a mobile viewer to review. You’ll then be able to save them to a record for reference later.
